Climbing the Dao

FAQ

Welcome to the world of DP cultivation. Others cultivate by sitting in meditation and channeling qi; we cultivate with both hands at once — 14 keys pressed together. The higher the realm, the harder the chart.

Model scoring

How difficulty is computed

Every chart we could obtain is scored directly by the model. The difficulty model is still at an early stage and adjacent realms still overlap, so different realms are not suitable for absolute comparison — read it as “roughly which difficulty band”. If any chart looks unreasonable to you, telling me which ones would speed up the model’s iteration.

X axis is the model score, Y axis the true difficulty. The coloured bars are the realm ranges; the four rows of ticks below show where each source table’s levels (sl / st / ★ / ★★) land. EASY on top, HARD below.

Model score against true difficulty: EASY on top, HARD below, with EB / HB realm ranges and source-table level positions marked

Sources & counts

Scope

All four tables come from the same chart pool: under each scale, a chart falls into exactly one of the lower or upper tables. 10,330 charts in total — lower EASY 7,781 / HARD 7,574, upper EASY 2,549 / HARD 2,756.

The second table below shows the overall shape is already there. But the Yaminabe table’s charts have few training samples and some patterns are unusual, so a few charts land in odd-looking positions — that part has to wait for future model iterations. The Yaminabe table itself carries very little difficulty information; this is as far as we can go right now.

Top-left = EASY Bottom-right = HARD Blank = 0

1. Realm × source table

2. Source level × realm

Read across: where a given table and level end up. Read down: how many charts each realm holds. E1–E7 are the lower table, E8–E13 the upper.

One chart can belong to several source tables, so adding sources across a row exceeds the real count; the totals of the four tables are the reference. 10,330 charts in total.

Fourteen heavens

Realm system

From mortals at the foot of the mountain to the Dao Ancestor above the clouds. Tribulation Crossing is a transitional realm in the setting; the current tables have no separate tier for it.

  1. 01錬気期 Qi RefiningEB1 / HB1

Sense the spiritual qi of heaven and earth, draw it in and temper the mortal body. You have just stepped through the gate; everything is still budding.

  2. 02築基期 FoundationEB2 / HB2

Lay the foundation of the Dao and firm the immortal root. From here you leave the mundane behind — the divide between “cultivator” and “mortal”.

  3. 03結丹期 Golden CoreEB3 / HB3

Spiritual power condenses into a core, the first qualitative change on the path. Once the core forms, combat power surges.

  4. 04元嬰期 Nascent SoulEB4 / HB4

The core shatters and a nascent soul is born, able to leave the body. Even if the flesh is destroyed it can seize another body and live on; lifespan reaches a thousand years.

  5. 05化神期 Spirit FormEB5 / HB5

The nascent soul takes form and divine sense reaches outward, first touching the laws of heaven and earth. Already a top-tier power of the mortal world.

  6. 06錬虚期 Void RefiningEB6 / HB6

Refine the spirit and unite with the Dao, merging with heaven and earth. The peak of the mortal world, one step from ascension.

  7. 07大乗期 MahayanaEB7 / HB7

The limit of mortal cultivation. One foot is already in the immortal world; only the heavenly tribulation remains.

  8. 08渡劫期 Tribulation Crossing—

The final trial of nine heavens’ thunder. Survive and ascend; fail and body and soul are destroyed. The current tables have no separate tier.

  9. 09真仙 True ImmortalEB8 / HB8

The first realm after ascending to the immortal world. Shed the mortal body, join the immortal ranks, and leave reincarnation behind.

  10. 10金仙 Golden ImmortalEB9 / HB9

Cultivate an indestructible golden body and deep power; a pillar of the immortal world.

  11. 11太乙 TaiyiEB10 / HB10

Comprehend the great Dao of Taiyi and approach the source of law; begin to touch the essence of the Dao itself.

  12. 12大羅 DaluoEB11 / HB11

Untouched by ten thousand kalpas, free and unfettered, beyond the river of time — the top-tier power of the immortal world.

  13. 13道祖 Dao AncestorEB12 / HB12

The first ancestor of the Dao, embodiment of law; a single thought decides the rise and fall of all things.

  14. 14域外 YuwaiEB13 / HB13

Beyond the three realms, outside the five elements; no longer measurable by ordinary standards.

Seven tiers

Reading the tiers

Per realm
7 tiers

Higher number = harder, 1 → 7 from weak to strong. (Supposedly.)

Borders
Overlapping

Tier difficulty can overlap, and overlaps can also occur at realm boundaries.

Source
Auto-tiered

Overlap comes from statistical tiering, plus individual ability and feel; it is normal.
